Hello my friends!
hope you are all doing fantastic! well...its been really long....(damn! its so strange that everytime i start the new post description with the same lines..."its been really long" Grrrr....) i wish i could post regularly though! i have been busy with my office work and during the weekends, mostly i make sure that i do not indulge in any mind squeezing thought processes...that clearly states that i have become a bit lazy....( i am being subtle here!)... hmmm... one day i thought i will do a digital portrait and was browsing through my photo bank. and i really loved this pic and quickly tried copying on to the digital canvas. hope you guys like it! And also attaching few portraits from my past. they are of course strongly connected to my wonderful present life!;)

she is the world!

long time my friends!.... a big hello to you all and i believe that you are all doing great in your own built worlds. its been long and i thought i would share this illustration that i did last week.
I believe that we are all here "mainly" because of the form that held us tight and safe for 9 months. And i think, that is power! the power that can nurture a seed and groom it to a tree. "the power to endure the creation". My sentence hardly made it sound as impactful or magnificent as it actually is in its real nature. we all know it and we all have experienced it unknowingly. the world functions because of her, the world exists in her. in-fact she is the world!

"The humiliation"

She cries aloud and no one would listen. There is no one to help. The merciless Dhushashan is pulling her robe. Her throat has gone dry with the loud screams, that scratched the hearts of all five brothers. The only one who can and will help her is Krishna. She prays to krishna and he comes to her rescue. Then she unties her long hair and vows that she will only tie it with the blood from Dhushashan's heart!

hey guys...hope you are all doing great. I've had a good weekend at my in laws place. there is so much love there, and along with that... that much food! i hogged and hogged till i felt uneasy in my stomach. but couldn't resist the punjabi khana! ok now i came back from the in laws at 9 pm and lazed around a bit. then thought would color the indie woman. here is she.... with full panache. :)

well...now i don't have a good feeling about this post at all guys. the reason being that i wanted to finish this piece a long time back but was unable to do so coz of some work. it still stands unfinished. i feel sorry for zemer...but i really really and really wanna finish this in a day or two depending upon my work schedules. The lighting din't turn out to be the way i wanted...but am kinda having fun doing this piece. well i have loads stuffs that i wanna start on. soon i will be posting more. take care guys.

this character...this god...this man...doesn't require any introduction. in every moment of my life i have remembered him as a mentor, a guide, a friend and a god....this illustration doesn't hold any particular meaning... just had a vision of him interacting with the breeze...(thanks abhi bro, for being an inspiration here...!)

for a very long time,i have been thinking of converting my designs in to accessories! All thanks to my wife! with her resources, she made it possible...! these are the two brooch's that i have designed, and when i saw it, "I JUST LOVED IT". hope you guys like it too.

hello guys! hope you are all doing great. here is something that i have been thinking of creating for a long time. every time i pass by intelnet(a company that is situated close to R&H)i see this guard roaming around with a stick in his hand. he is unkempt, dirty, and a bit repulsive looking guy. i got a bit of free time and i thought i will try to capture his image i have on mind. well...thats exactly the one that you are looking at. my character still looks much much better then the real one. :)

well...well...well...i couldn't believe my eyes when i was holding it in my hands....you all know that R&H got the oscars for golden compass, and it was kind of bill to bring it to the india R&H studio. though i did not work on the film i still got a golden opportunity to pose with it. :)

guys here is another one in the kaam dev series. I wanted to explore the other aspect of kaam dev. so thought of picking up lust as the subject. the arrow of lust pierce's through the mortals skin and blossoms from within. thats what i wanna to portray through this illo. hope it justifies the theme. :)

hey guys! another add on to the indian gods series. This time its the lord of love "kaam dev". :) kaam dev is infusing love in to a beautiful woman through his lotus arrow. couldn't wait to color it up a bit. :) but am going to bring in more colors to the illo soon. good night guys! yawn!! :D

"the rain dance" concept sketch

hey guys! another quick update! During my post graduation in animation film design, in national institute of design i have had made an animated short film called "the rain dance", which was my diploma project(almost three years back!). The short film has won a few awards in India and outside. Its a very simple and emotional story. What i am going to show you guys, is one of the concept sketches that i was making before the production of my short film! The film was a one man show and more over an ambitious project for me. After a year of sweat i finished the film. whenever i look back, i still feel that i could have done a better job. But considering my knowledge, skills and the dead line at that point of time. A pat on my back....i pulled it off decently. :)

hey guys!:) hope you are all having a fantastic time in life. Right now, am figuring out a good composition for the next post in the Indian gods series. i guess its gonna take some time. mean while i thought you guys can have fun watching this piece. It's an 8 months old piece. and a very special one in my life! :) this is what i designed for my wedding invitation card front cover. ;) this one is digitally inked. And the owner of my heart loved it!!! :) hope you guys like it.

"narasimha"

narasimha is one of the incarnations of god vishnu who is the form of volcanic fierce and (absolute)anger. the scriptures say that he appeared to kill Hiranyakashipu the father of Prahlada a devoted follower of god vishnu. Hiranyakashipu asked prahlada "where does vishnu dwell"? to this prahlada answered that god is everywhere! and in anger hiranyakashipu screams "if your god is there in this pillar let him come out and fight with me!!! he breaks the pillar and from the pillar narasimha appears and kills him. His extreme anger didn't stop even after killing hiranyakashipu. So the deva's ran to vishnu's wife lakshmi to help the situation. the scriptures say that lakshmi came down to bring him back to his normal self. (woman power!!!) to continue with the rudra form of shiv here is narasimha another rudra(anger) form. :)

After making "Ardhnarishwar", the form of god shiva is still nailed in my mind. And i have decided to go with the flow. Rudra is a very powerful and fearsome form of god shiva. i was very fascinated with the mere form of the very angry wild and random explosion of his form. And thats what i tried to capture in this illustration.

"ardhanarishwar" The god of equality.

ahem... :) I am sure most of the people from india know who "Ardhanarishwar" is! But for those who don't know, he is god shiv who gave his half to his wife Paarvathi to show this world that men and women are equals. And the concept of having features and characteristics of man and woman in the same body fascinated me. I didn't hesitate to materialize it. i still feel that there is room for improvement in this. have a look!

"levitation"

i got this theme "levitation" from one of my friends. so, was generally doodling some random stuff. Actually enjoyed doing the wrinkled guy with the flying slug at the back with its tentacles sucking his skin(for the grip) that can take him across the sea. :) and the the big fish, "sheblob" is also an outcome of some random thoughts in my mind. i am thinking of coloring both the sketches. lets see how they turn out to be!

my baby(wife) is a true inspiration for my work. I, most of the time think about the beautiful moments that we had in National Institute Of Design. It was our first salsa performance that brought us together! this sketch is the outcome of that fresh memory inside.
